The Apprentice returns to BBC One
It’s that time of year again when Lord Sugar is back to invite another 18 would-be candidates to fight to become his next business partner. Now in it’s eleventh outing, the boardroom will look a little different this year as mainstay Nick Hewer decided ten years was enough in 2014 and is to be replaced by the man every candidate fears at interview time; the bald-headed pitbull Claude Littner. Karen Brady who joined the ranks in 2010 remains as part of the team of mentors who will follow and observe this latest group of fame hungry entrepreneurs.
Not a single minute of the new series has been aired yet already, some of the more over-confident candidates are opening their mouths when they’d be wise to keep them shut. 23-year-old Bournemouth University graduate Jenny Garbis who has already published a business book, believes she’ll win and claims she is “ready for fame” and will one day “have her name in lights”. Oh dear! Perhaps that gives us a small insight into the true motivations of some of these candidates and she’ll certainly be one to watch with interested – hopefully when she makes a total hash of being project manager!
As with each year, the opening week will start with a double bill of shows with the first premiering on Wednesday, October 14th at 9:00pm on BBC One and a second show the next day, again at 9:00pm.
Whether or not we love or loathe the candidates, it’s unmissable viewing so make sure you tune in with Sky Cards next week to see the new faces introduced.
Sir Alex is back… well sort of
One for the sports fanatics, this Sunday 11 October 2015, on BBC One at 10:30pm sees Sir Alex Ferguson look back at his 26 years reign as Manchester United boss. The 73-year-old reflects on the legacy he has left at the club, and discusses life after football. There’s also some interesting insight from the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jose Mourinho, Tony Blair and Lord Sugar, who all comment on Ferguson’s no-nonsense leadership style that brought so much success to the football club.
