Finally summer arrived in the UK and with it, some impressive sporting achievements and results to boot. After 77 long years of waiting, Andy Murray finally gave what all British tennis fans had been waiting for… a home grown Wimbledon champion. His straight sets victory over world number one Novak Djokovic won’t go down in history as one of the greatest finals ever but it will certainly be remembered as having one of the tensest final games ever. It was almost too much to bare. But he came through so well done Andy.

Are England really beating the Aussies?

As we speak, the unthinkable is happening. England are dominant against an abject Australian cricket team in what could be shaping up to be one of the most one sided Ashes test series in recent history.

With England already 2-0 up in the series, there’s talk of a possible whitewash 5-0 series win. Is it too early to get carried away? We think so and if any country knows how to dig deep and scrap, it’s the boys from down under. Don’t write them off just yet. There could still be a lot of drama ahead so cricket fans best get the tinnies in the fridge and tune into Sky Sports Ashes HD to see how matters unfold.

With the third and possibly decisive test about to come up, this could be the start of the drama or the beginning of the end for Australia. It would take a massive performance to win the series with such a one sided scoreline. At Sky Cards, we can’t wait to see how this one goes…

There’s more great sport coming up soon

Just in case all the furore around a great Lions tour, Wimbledon, the Tour de France and the Ashes has distracted you, don’t forget that the F1 season continues this weekend with the Hungarian Grand Prix about to get under way at the Hungaroring.

The F1 season has had it’s usual fair share of controversy, questionable rules, regulations and changes but one thing remains consistent and that is everyone is still chasing Sebastian Vettel for the title. With a commanding lead over the chasing pack of Alonso, Raikkonen and Hamilton; now is the time for the challengers to really step up before it’s too late.

Can this F1 season spring a few surprises? We’ll have to wait and see so check out the live practice sessions, qualifying and the race this Sunday on Sky Sports F1.
