Premier League Fixtures

Wednesday, 17th June 2020 the long awaited return of Premier League football, following 100 days of uncertainty due to the worldwide COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

And it’s all to play for with 92 fixtures remaining and plenty of stories to be completed.

Liverpool are just two victories way from wrapping up their first top flight title in 30 years.

Whilst countless other teams are still fighting for a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League and Europa League.

And of course, there’s the tussle at the bottom, with a number of clubs hoping to avoid the drop.

Due to the pandemic, the remaining fixtures will feel rather different than usual.

After weeks and weeks of discussions and negotiations, the broadcasters have agreed a deal with the Premier league to air all 92 remaining fixtures live, with many of them being shown on free-to-air – something that has rarely ever been seen before.

The reason for this decision becomes clear when you realise the matches will be played in empty stadiums.

With the UK government still dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, the risk to fans and players alike i still too great to have spectators present at games.

So instead, we’ll all have to become armchair fans and enjoy what’s left of this season in the comfort of our living rooms.

No doubt the atmosphere will feel strange, the anticipation and excitement remains the same.

Channels Showing Live Matches

The broadcasters sharing the spoils are Sky Sports Sports, BT Sport, BBC and Amazon Prime

Sky Sports has the most number of matches totalling 64.

Of the 64 games, 25 will be transmitted free-to-air on their Freeview ‘Pick’ channel.

All of those games will also be available online via Now TV.

Next in line is BT Sport, who’ll be airing 20 live matches.

However, all of those games require a BT Sport subscription to watch live.

Finally, the BBC and Amazon Prime Video will be sharing the remaining 8 games, airing 4 each.
